Introduction to E-Commerce

Hello fellow students,

My name is Melvin Black and this is my 6th BU course in my pursuit towards a MSPM. Since graduating out of undergrad in ‘94, I have had to study in some fashion or another since then. I work in the IT field and there is almost always something new to learn. My undergraduate degree is in MIS which was attained from University of Maryland University College (European Division). After working in almost every individual field related to IT and I’m currently working as a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer for the health alliance company Premier Inc.(www.premierinc.com)

I’m married with two kids (three and 13 year old) and live the Charlotte, NC area.
I have been in this location for the last 5 years after stops in Seattle, Oakland/San Francisco, after originally starting in Detroit (born and raised).

I’ve worked in several industries including the Military (US Army), government, software (Microsoft, Inacom), healthcare (Premier) and banking (Wachovia, Bank of America).

Since this is my sixth class with BU I’ve finally become familiar with the BU processes and have been impressed with this learning environment. I am very happy with the level of education received so far. I look forward with working with other students with similar and different career interests which I imagine I will meet during this course of this class and throughout the BU MSPM program.

Good Luck to all

Mel

  1. Hello Melvin. Nice work here and quite informative. Great pictures og BU as well. This is my last class and I have never been to the school in person. I am looking forward to it in May!

  2. Dan,

Congrats on this being your last class. Man, I can't wait for that day! At times I feel like I never have time for anything "enjoyable" given the demands of work, school, and family responsibilities.
